Stock Rating: Sell the stock before Macworld Jan 9, it should sell off a lot; The stock should trade sideways below $5-5.50 until Macworld; There maybe a slight uptick with news of new features at CES to $6; Tivo will sell off on the next DTV report saying Tivo sales are down; Tivo will sell off on loss in the suit to Echostar over Time Warp

CES starts Jan 5 and ends 8. I added that to important things. Sorry about that. CES is just before the start of Macworld. Also, I listed the suit in important thing but not a prediction and trading advice. I am still looking at the patent. From what I have read so far, it looks like a patent that covers stand alone devices and not combo. The Dish lawyers are also very good. I will hold off on many any short term trading advice even when I have a full opinion because there may be delays, etc. Investing on the outcome of a lawsuit is not good idea as say a Think Secret rumor.

Why don't you google "doctrine of equivalents". A combo device isn't going to protect them from ripping of TiVo's IP.

btw, what claim number in the patent stipulates "stand alone device"???
